Lots to Share!

Oh boy, so much is happening this week and I don't want you to miss any of it!
First off, if you are a FACEBOOK FOLLOWER and would like to save 50% Off all my SVG files, today is the last day.  Be sure to click over there for the discount code and the link to Cut and Create.  If you're not a follower yet, just head on over and "Like" me!  You'll see the code.
And while you're on Facebook, don't forget that I'm giving away this one-of-a-kind "Artist" domino pendant (created by yours truly) to a Facebook follower who leaves a comment in that post.  I'm randomly choosing the winner later tonight so you still have some time!

Secondly, I proud to announce that I am one of the Designers for the new
which kicks off tomorrow.  Look for a great Christmas Card Blog Hop coming October 1st.
And lastly, we are in the "Back to School" countdown.
Take a peek at what Paper Squirrel Vicki came up with using the stack of books SVG from my new SCHOOL SET and her sweet digi...
She's so great at giving ALL the details of the supplies for her projects (unlike someone else you know!)  Just click on over to her BLOG.
And speaking of "The Squirrel" our COLLABORATION PROJECT was such a hit, we will definitely be doing more...so stay tuned!  By the way, Vicki is also one of the Designers that will be featured on the new "Card A Day Blog".

And now for a little tease...I have a couple of new SVG freebies I'll be sharing soon...another school themed element and a special request.
I'm also working away on Halloween files.

Since I'm getting my little paws into more and more projects I may not always have time to post messages on the yahoo groups when I offer freebies.  So if you're not a Follower, you might want to consider becoming one.
I'd hate for you to miss something good!

Sharing: Challenge Entry

Another multi-media piece to share with you today.
This one is called "She Was Always Flighty".
The base is a 8" x 10" flat canvas that I painted blue.
Using burnt umber, I pounced paint on the canvas
(behind and around where I placed the lady and over her head)
to create a sort of "cloud" for her and the birds.
I also used burnt umber in the corners and edges of the canvas.
I then took watered down burnt umber paint and flicked on specks using an old toothbrush.

The vintage image was lightly colored with watercolor pencils and then altered
to add a patterned paper skirt with a Grunge Paper bird cage over it.
I bent the "bars" of the cage to make it more dimensional.
I used Vintage Photo Distress embossing powder on the birdcage
and rusty wire for the perch swing and to hold the cage door open.
The bird was stamped on cardstock and colored with pencils to match.
His perch is a piece of Grunge Paper.

The birds in her crown, on her hand and flying above her
were stamped on and outlined with brown pen.
I added a piece of lace that I aged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink
and hand cut the legs and added printed vintage shoe art.
A brown velvet flower was topped with a button held on with rusty wire.
I printed out the definition on beige cardstock that
I distressed and then punched the tag.
The tag was wired to the flower and more rusty wires were added as tendrils.

The letters were printed on beige cardstock, distressed,
cut out and pasted on the canvas.
I found an old frame and painted it blue and burnt umber to match the canvas.
I also added gold paint to the frame's inside molding.

I've entered this piece in the INSPIRATION EMPORIUM
Monthly Challenge--Got Paint?

And yes, I DO have paint!!
As a decorative painter I have literally hundreds of bottles, tubes and trays of paint,
so it was really fun to use them in a multi-media piece.

It's a Collaboration Project!

Since The Paper Squirrel (Vicki) has been on "Craft-cation" all week at my house,
we've worked up a couple collaboration projects.
The first one was the School House SVG and
the School Girl Digi shown a few posts down.

Today we have a sweet "Sunflower Basket" for you.
Here is the card Vicki created using the new SVG "Basket" file
and her free "Sunflower Basket Fill" digital stamp:
By using both files, you get so much dimension!
Because a lot of The Paper Squirrel followers may not be SVG users,
I have also included the link for a print and cut basket.
So now you have no excuse not to create this project!

You can get the digital stamp free until Friday on the Paper Squirrel BLOG
You can get the SVG basket file HERE
If you're not set-up to cut SVG files...Get the print and cut jpeg file HERE
Hope everyone enjoys this project!
As always, we'd love to see what you do with it!

More Bragging!

I'm just thrilled to brag that my DOMINO COLLAGE was one of the top three chosen this week over at SIMON SAYS STAMP
This is just so exciting for me because it was the first time I've ever entered one of their challenges---I never thought I had something good enough.  So to have my project picked as one of the best...out of 151 entries...has been absolutely thrilling!
I also checked out the FROSTED DESIGNS FABULOUS FRIDAY CHALLENGE results and my piece was selected as one of the top three over there too!  Whoo Hoo!!
I hope you will forgive me for going on and on with my bragging.  I've been doing the "happy dance" the last few days and just wanted to share with my blogger friends.   This has been a great week off from the real job and it's been so much fun playing in my studio.  I think I might need a longer "craft-cation"!!

SVG: Fall Leaf #3 and Sharing a Fall Layout

Here is the last fall leaf of the set of three:
EDIT:  Sorry this file is no longer available for free.
You may purchase it in the "Fall Leaves" set HERE.

I used all my leaf SVG files and a portion of my new
"Fall Set" in this layout I just finished:
The background paper is an old one from my stash.  Luckily the name was still on it:  Fall Leaves by Paper Pizazz.  I think it goes perfectly with my leaf files!
I also want to draw attention to the heading.
I know I keep singing the praises of Sure Cuts A Lot (SCAL)
but here is why it's so versatile:
you can create EXACTLY what you need for any layout.
I used a free font (Green Fuz) to create the
"Ghoultide Gathering" heading with SCAL.
I then cut it out on my Cricut.  Unfortunately, if you don't already have SCAL,
it is no longer able to work with a Cricut.  But there are plenty of other cutters that are now able to use SCAL3 (with more to come).  A few are priced comparable to a Cricut.  So before you get a Cricut, be sure to do some research on a cutter that uses SCAL.  You will save BIG time on not having to buy cartridges and will have unlimited creativity ability.  Plus you can use my freebie SVGs!!
I entered this layout in Outlaw Women Scrapbook Emporium's
You were to use at least 15 eyelets (creatively) in your layout.
I used exactly that many!

I used the basket of leaves file from my newest SVG set:

Brag: I'm a Ginger Gem

I'm so honored that my Domino Collage was chosen
as one of this week's GINGER GEMS.
I usually don't have time to enter many challenges, but as I am
on "Craft-cation" this week (from my real life job),
I'm getting to many things on my creative "To-Do" list.
Another thing I was able to do is put up my very first etsy listing.
This is for another domino project:
You can see the pendant listing HERE.
I've also gotten a few collaborative projects done with
The Paper Squirrel (one is listed in the following post with more to come),
more freebie SVGs on deck (the final Fall Leaf is up next)
and more creations to share.
What fun I've been having!!

SVG: School House

Since most of us are in "Back to School" mode,
today's freebie SVG file is a little red school house
You can get the file HERE.
And to give you an example of how you can use it
(and snag a free--until Friday--digi to use with it),
here is a super cute card that Create Team member Vicki came up with:
Grab the school girl DIGI and then check out her BLOG
for details on how to make the card.
Looking for more "School" themed SVGs?
I just loaded up this new "School Set" to my stores:

Sharing: Halloween Hanging

Yesterday I skipped the post I had promised due
to trying to get a piece in by challenge deadlines.
So better late than never, I'm featuring the wonderful "Witching Hour"
from Vicki over at Paper Squirrel which uses one of my SVG files in a unique way...
it's made to look like metal!
Notice the scroll hanger?  It looks like metal but was actually made using chipboard, black antiquing gel, UTEE, alcohol ink, and Perfect Pearls.
Vicki has complete details of this technique over on her BLOG.

The hanger was cut from chipboard using the SVG file from my
"Fancy Flourishes--Two" set:
You can get this extremely versatile file from my store over at
DIECUT DESIGNER, CUT AND CREATE or TKO SCRAPS.
I think my Creative Team has used this file more than any other in all of their projects.  So far it's been featured in Halloween, Christmas, floral, feminine and masculine projects.
Have you used it in one of your projects?  I'd LOVE to see it!!

Sharing: Challenge Entry

Yesterday I finished up a new art piece:  "Time 2 Journey"

The piece is a domino collage.  The dominoes were altered with Latte, Sunshine Yellow and Gold Mixatives alcohol inks.  Then with Coffee Archival ink, I stamped the images using various Tim Holtz stamps.  Each domino received a top coat of Mod Podge Dimensional Magic.  Each domino was attached to a 3.75" x 4.5" rectangle of iron colored screening (which I altered with Latte AI).
I took copper wiring and wove it through the holes of the screening.  Various charms, beads and findings were altered with the same AIs and attached to the dominoes or through the wires.
Here are the challenges I've entered this piece in:

This piece is for sale.  Please see the button above for information.

Sharing: Layered Card

Creative Team member Bonnie put this quick and easy card together using a piece of the SVG "Fancy Flourishes--Two" set on the left edge of this card.  The layers of different papers, elements, and vertical arrangement create interest.  Be sure to check out Bonnie's BLOG to see all her amazing creations!

Sharing: Digi Tea Cup Card

Today I'm featuring a lovely card by Vicki over at PAPER SQUIRREL.
She used a few great techniques on this card that she explains on her blog.
I especially like the crackle on the tea cup which gives it that "aged" look.
The image is actually her own digital stamp.
She printed the tea cup digi on patterned paper,
which is something I always forget to do.
I want to do it the hard way....color it!
Why not just used patterned paper and make it quick?!
Speaking of digital stamps, you really should check out
her blog as she has a new freebie every friday.
This week she has an adorable little school girl offered...
but hurry, the freebie lasts just one week.
If you missed a digi (like the tea cup above)
you can purchase them from her blog.

By the way, did you notice the SVG file she added
from my "Fancy Flourishes--Two" set?
Check back tomorrow and Sunday as I'll be showing you two more samples from
my talented Creative Team using this very versatile set!

Sharing: Bulldog Art

I have an old friend who is an amazing artist.  She had been doing a series of pen & ink dog drawings for cards and had posted them on Facebook.
I had jokingly asked her when she'd be doing bulldogs.
So today I got an email from Wendy and there he was....my LOUIE!

Wendy has a fine art giclee available in her ETSY SHOP.
The drawing is also part of a set of English Bulldog notecards.
She has lots of beautiful artwork (not just dogs) so please take a peek.

About ten years ago I did a watercolor picture of Louie.
I never quite finished it.
Some day I will.

Sharing: A CAS (Clean and Simple) Card

I have to confess, when I first heard the letters "CAS" I didn't know what they meant.  Now I know they mean a fast card!  Here Bonnie shows you her interpretation of a "Clean And Simple" card.  Can you believe the border and leaves are from an embossing folder?  How easy is that?!  She also said that she had made up a few of the rolled roses (from my SVG file) and had them on hand for when she needed to whip up a quick card.  If you'd like to see more of Bonnie's work, please visit her BLOG.

The rose file Bonnie used came from one of my newer SVG file sets:
Three different files for creating dimensional roses.

Sharing: Another Beautiful Rose Card

Sharing another of the wonderful cards made by Bonnie,
Creative Team Member and card maker extraordinaire!
In this version, Bonnie added a pearl to the
center of the rose...isn't it elegant?
She has such a knack for making beautiful dimensional elements.
Please check out her BLOG post for more details.

Sharing: Rolled Rose on a Card

Even though I've been featuring some fall things,
there is still a bit of summer left for us to enjoy!
And what's one of the best things about summer?
Roses!
And the best paper roses are the dimensional kind.
Card Guru Bonnie has created three lovely cards using rolled roses.
I'll be sharing the first one today:
Bonnie actually use three of my SVG file sets on this card.
It's gorgeous!
Please click over to her BLOG for more photos and details on the card.
By the way, she won a well deserved prize for this card from the last Paper Dolls Challenge!

Sharing: Autumn Card

This fall card started with the "Autumn Heading" portion
of the SVG file element available in my new "Fall Set":
The first thing I did was take my favorite Distress Inks and use them to color and shade the paper.
I stamped my sentiment on the banner (left blank in the file to be versatile)
Notice what I attached the paper element to?
Yup...more aluminum duct tape!
This time I ran it through the wood grain Tim Holtz embossing folder
and used alcohol ink to stain the foil brown.
Behind that is more glassine paper, which I simply crinkled up, smoothed
back out and buffed with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
Everything then taped to orange cardstock.
Another quick and easy fall card with loads of texture!

If you are interested in the new SVG "Fall Set", you can purchase it at CUT & CREATE.  Please follow me on FACEBOOK.

Sharing: A Very Textured Pumpkin Card

I received my brand new packet of Tim Holtz glassine paper a few days ago and immediately wanted to play with it.  It is a great medium for texturing and today I'll show you one way to use the paper.
First I cut the pumpkin using a SVG file from my new collection.
I cut the shadow/base layer in brown and the pieces in orange.  I then took the orange pieces, laid them on my craft mat and stamped on a large damask flourish stamp using Cocoa Archival Ink.  Then with Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks, I shaded the pieces with a water pen.
For the pumpkin leaf, I used a left over piece of the leaves and acorn border (from the same SVG set) that I used on the fall tag I made (shown in post below).  I stamped the wording on a piece of ligher orange cardstock and hand cut out a little tag.  Distressed it with the same DI as on the pumpkin.  Then using copper wire, made little vines and attached it to the pumpkin.
The glassine paper was run through the Texture Boutique using an embossing folder.  I rubbed on a little bit of Vintage Photo DI around the edges and then tore each side.  Love the look of the glassine paper...to me it looks like fabric.  I mounted the pumpkin and the leaf to the glassine using
Glossy Accents as a glue stick didn't seem to hold well.
Then it was backed with brown cardstock and put on an orange card.
So many ways to use the glassine paper!  I'll have another fall card to share tomorrow.

Sharing: Fall Tag

I used the "Leaves & Acorn" border from my newest SVG set and created this fall tag:
I actually used the file two ways...
I cut the top portion on acetate and created a mask.
Then I cut both layers on orange and brown cardstock and cut the elements apart.
Here's how I made the tag:
1.  First I got out my brand new bottle of Vintage Photo Distress Stain and covered the tag.
This was the first time I used Distress Stain and I love it!  (See my other use below)
Next, I ripped a piece a book page diagonally and glued to half of the tag.
2.  After adding Stencil Adhesive, I placed the mask I created diagonally on the tag and applied Distress Inks--Walnut Stain on the left (darker) side and Vintage Photo on the right (book page) side.
3.  I stamped on the sentiments with Archival Ink--Jet Black on the top and Coffee on the side.  I used Orange Marmalade DI and a water brush to add a little color under the sentiment on the book page side.
4.  I also used the Distress Inks and water brush to add color and dimension to the orange paper of the cut out border.  I glued the pieces to the tag and added Vintage Photo Stickles to the brown layer.
5.  Using copper wire, beads and a brass charm, I created the embellishments.
6.  Added two ribbons.  The orange ribbon was too bright so I toned it down easily using the Distress Stain.  Another great use for the Stains!
If you are interested in the new SVG "Fall Set", you can purchase it here on my blog (just click the tab above) or at CUT & CREATE.

Sharing: Negative Die Cut on a Birthday Card

On the last post, you saw what Vicki did using the bottom flourish from this set
(she turned it into a beautiful Christmas vine).
Today I'm showing you what Bonnie (my other Creative Team genius)
did with the negative image from this same die cut:
Same file...totally different look.
Notice the little pieces of organza Bonnie added to the flowers?
Just makes the whole piece pop.
Bonnie has detailed instructions on how she created the card over on her BLOG.

If you are interested in the set--Fancy Flourishes Set Two--
you can purchase it at CUT & CREATE

I've been working on new freebie SVGs to share.  Fall designs are coming up.

Sharing: Blue Bird of Peace Ornament

Seems like everyone is feeling a little "Christmas-y" lately!
Maybe it's the hot weather that has people dreaming of snow.
Not me...I love summer...but because my time is so limited,
I like to get a head start and will work on Christmas all year long.

This lovely ornament was created by Vicki over at Paper Squirrel.
She is one of my Creative Team members and has taken one of the
"Fancy Flourish-Set Two" SVG files and made it work for a Christmas design:
Can you guess where she recycled an old phone book into this piece?
It's such a darling ornament!
All the creative details can be found on Vicki's BLOG.

And speaking of Christmas, I'm sending out a big "Thank You"
to all the members over at Outlaw Women Scrapbook Emporium.
My recent "Christmas in July" Challenge ENTRY
was voted as the Grand Prize Winner.
