Collage Sheet Decorated Domino Necklace

Here's the final project I recently completed using a Piddix "Floral & Fauna" Collage Sheet.  Check back to see the Key Chains & Glass Tile Pendants I also made with this sheet.  And I still have more images left, so I'm sure I'll be featuring something else with these soon!
To create this domino pendant, I did something new (for me)...I drilled holes to make it a horizontal pendant.  The bird image was added to the domino using a multi-medium transfer technique.  This is the first time I tried this technique using a Piddix collage square.  I'm happy to say that it worked perfectly and I was very pleased with the result.

Bulldog Cupid Card

Being a bulldog momma, I love this stamp (Rubber Hedgehog)!  So I thought it'd be perfect to go along with the "Let's Have A Laugh" Challenge over at Simon Says Stamp.  I stamped him on pink cardstock with Jet Black Archival ink and then colored with Distress Markers and a water pen.  I added Picket Fence Stickles to the wing and a dollop of Glossy Accents to make his eyeball rounded.  A Spellbinder's die cut out and embossed the oval shape.  Added Liquid Pearl dots around the edge.  The sentiment (Stampin' Up) was stamped and punched.  The punched border is from Martha Stewart.  The heart was punched from red cardstock and then given two coats of Stickles.  I added it to the card with foam tape.  The designer paper base and ribbon were scraps.  Here's a look at the inside:

Easy Collage Sheet Jewelry

Did you see my LWD Design Team Showcase where I featured key chains made using the Flora & Fauna Piddix Collage sheet?  Check it out here.  This collage sheet has 21 images so there are plenty to play with...make a bunch of everything!
These pendants are made from glass tiles, which I've had in my stash for a while.  You can find similar pieces HERE.  Just attach the collage square (and any sentiments) to the back of the tile using Glossy Accents.  Add a bail and you're done!  Or if you'd rather have something to decorate your fridge, replace the bail with a magnet!
I also had a few square jewelry pendant blanks in my stash.  I glued in the collage square and topped it off with a square epoxy dot.  The bee is a brass charm that I altered using Ranger Patinas.
I still have one more completed piece of jewelry I created using the collage sheet.  I'll show you that tomorrow!

LWD Design Team Showcase: Piddix Flora & Fauna Collage Sheet and Tim Holtz Ideaology Fragments

I've agreed to continue on with the Lone Wolf Designs Design Team until June, so I'm back again to share a fun and easy key chain project with you.  These are so fun and easy to make using the Piddix Collage Sheet- 1 inch Squares-Flora & Fauna  and Advantus-Tim Holtz-Ideaology-Fragments-Charms.
There are 21 squares of art on this collage sheet...so you can make lots of projects!  This Piddix sheet is only one of the many collage sheets available from LWD.  There are various shapes, sizes and themes for you to choose from and these sheets are constructed using quality paper and ink.  The squares were a real pleasure to work with!
So lets get started with the key chain project!
First choose a Tim Holtz Fragment to work with.  For this tutorial, I choose a long thin piece (1.25" x 2").  I found a piece of scrap paper I liked for my background and laid the fragment over it to be sure it would fit how I wanted it to.  Next I drew a pencil line around the fragment to help me layout the placement of the collage square.

I choose this cute little bird as the focal point and used a sentiment from Cosmo Cricket "Tiny Text" to go along with it.  I used Glossy Accents to glue the elements to the background paper and let them dry.
Next I put an even coat of Glossy Accents on the back side of the fragment and pressed it to the paper making sure that I stayed inside of my pencil lines.  I turned the fragment over and pressed out any bubbles or extra GA so that the back was smooth.  I also used a Q-tip to wipe off any GA that pressed out onto the edges.  Then I set it aside so that the GA could dry completely.
Once everything was completely dry, I used a craft knife to trim away the paper around the edges.  Get as close as you can, angling the knife blade for a mitered cut.  Then, take a sanding stick and sand the edges on the back of the paper so that you get a nice smooth edge.  If there is any GA on the sides of the fragment, you can lightly sand that away as well.  Use a pick tool to clean out the hole if necessary.
If the paper you used has a decorative back, you can leave it as is.  If not, cut another piece of paper for the back and apply it the same way as you did the front piece.
To finish, I put a little GA on my finger and ran it around the edge of the paper.  Then I applied a thin coat to the entire back side, sealing it completely.
After everything is dry, add a chain and key ring, charms, beads or what ever you'd like to decorate the piece.

Here's a peek at a few other pieces I made with the Piddix Collage Sheet:
Glass tile pendant

 Metal pendant
Domino necklace
Stop back later this week for details on the techniques for these three pieces.

Valentines Owl Card

New "Valentine's Day" Challenge over at my sponsored challenge blog Creative Cutting Challenge.  For my submission, I created this cute owl card.  I used one of my newest files, Valentines Owl, to create the card.

To make my card, I dove deep into my scrap box and picked out different patterned pink papers   Once all the pieces were cut, I shaded them with Distress Marker and a water pen.  The highlighted areas were created using the Picket Fence DM.   Various Stickles were used to add glitter and shine on the branch, leaves and owl.  I typed out the sentiment (Bradley Hand) using my computer program and ran the journaling balloon through the printer.   The border was punched (EK Sucess "Swirl") on plain pink paper and added below the heart designer paper. To hide the seam, I used black/white checked fabric tape (Maya Road).  To add the pink ribbon, I cut a small slit just below the fabric tape and pulled it through.  Everything was assembled and attached to white cardstock.

Don't forget to check out all the great Design Team "Valentine's Day" inspiration over at CREATIVE CUTTING CHALLENGE.  If you are an electronic cutter who uses SVG or similar files, I hope you'll join in the challenge....we want to see your creations and you just might become a winner!

Domino Necklace

Here's a domino necklace I recently made and donated to a charity raffle.
(Funny story:  My sister won this and I won the necklace she donated!)
Features alcohol inked and stamped background and one of my UTEE molded frozen Charlotte dolls.
Metallic sticker border added to the side accented with black gems.
The doll and the crown charm were turned silver with patina and then aged with alcohol ink.  The sentiment was cut from a book page.

Everything held on and a top coat added with Glossy Accents.
I even made the charms from beads and findings.

Winter Ornament

One more ornament created using acetate placed inside of a clear glass bulb.  This one features stamped trees from Stampers Anonymous and a deer from Stamping Up.  To complete the scene, I used a thin black Sharpie to add more horizon and grass.  Everything was colored with alcohol inks and then an icy look was added with Stickles on the trees, antlers and ground.  Artificial snow added to the inside of the ornament.  Topped off with a plaid bow, greenery and a pine cone.

Race Car Birthday Card For Kids

Today kicks off the "For The Boys" Challenge over at my sponsored challenge blog Creative Cutting Challenge.  For my submission, I created this cute little birthday card for my youngest nephew's sixth birthday.  I used one of my newest files, Race Car with Numbers, to create the card.

This is a perfect file for boys of any age, but especially for the younger set as you can use their age as the car's number.  A versatile set, you can use the included numbers for any project!

To make the birthday card, I used orange cardstock, a scrap of colorful striped paper, white cardstock which I embossed, a zig zag border and a rub on sticker.  The car was cut from scraps that coordinated with the striped paper.  The sentiment is from Crafty Secrets "Car Classics".  I stamped it with Archival Jet Black and then when dry, added the white to the checks with a Picket Fence Distress Marker.
