Wedding Scrapbook Layouts

Today I'm featuring traditional scrapbooks made with paper and real embellishments!  It's fitting to show these pages today as it is the bride & groom's first anniversary!  Congrats to my sister and her hubby.  The page shown above was created using the wedding invitation, doilies that wrapped the invitation and the thank you card the couple sent.  The metal bird is from Tim Holtz.

I just love these photo booth pics!  I cut the "Photo", "Booth" and "Fun" titles using SCAL and my electronic cutter.  The filmstrip, camera and black sentiment card were part of a paper set.  The film strip ribbon is from Tim Holtz.

This page and the one below it were very easy to create as the paper included the lacy border on the bottom.  The title was created from individual vinyl pennant letters.  The "Bridesmaids" caption is a rub on.

Top frame is an acetate overlay.  The "best wishes" sentiment is metal brads.

This chalkboard paper was perfect for a page all about the happy couple.  Their last name was spelled out in acetate letters.  I used a white gel pen to add the "Mr. & Mrs." and the date on the pennants.  Three pearls above the printed sentiment were the only embellishments.

Big Tumbler For Dad

Happy Birthday to my dad, 79 years young today!  I'm sharing a big tumbler I made for him for Father's Day.  I got the tumbler from WalMart, a bargain for $1.50 and used outdoor vinyl again and my new Tool Set SVG files which you can purchase
Here's a closer look at all the cuts...photos not the best on a round object but you'll get the idea.

The nut came from this file:  DAD Wrench

I really like making these customized tumblers.
They make great gifts and are quick and easy too.

Last of the Digital Layouts

Forgot that I hadn't shared these!  If you feel so inclined, I hope you'll head over to FB and vote for one or all of my layouts.  If you don't remember which ones are mine, they are labeled with our names, just hover over.  Here is the LINK.  Click on "Vote For Entries" in the upper right.  Thanks!

I took the photo above on the lake I live on.  That bird, a crane I believe, makes the most horrible sounds!
Me, my mom and sister getting goofy on vacation.  I did buy the black cat eye glasses and usually wear them for Halloween.
Another of my photos...a trillium in my flower bed.  Love those flowers...so white and pretty.
My newest baby boy.  Picture taken on the day we brought him home, January of 2013.
Me, my mom, BFF, and sisters cropping for a cause and having a blast!
Anniversary cruise...one of the only times I can get hubby out of his jeans and Carhart shorts!
Great holiday weekend with my sisters, BIL, niece and nephews sledding on the hill by my house.

Star Spangled Tumblers

The final Creative Cutting Challenge until fall is up for the next two weeks and the theme is: 4th of July/Patriotic.  For my DT submission, I created these star spangled tumblers.  I was lucky enough to score two clear tumblers with straws from Dollar Tree.  For some reason these are hard to come by at my local store.  (I could order a case of 12 but as the surfaces closet is already overflowing, I haven't done it yet.)

The first thing I did was wipe down the outside with rubbing alcohol and was careful not to handle the outside.  This way any oils from my fingers did not stop the vinyl from adhering properly.  To hold the cups, just put your hand inside while working.

I cut various sizes (some with two layers) of red, white and blue vinyl (Oracle 651) using the star file from my Patriotic Set.  It does take a little caution when layering this vinyl as it's almost impossible to lift back up if you don't get it in the right spot.  With this project, it wasn't crucial to have it exact so it would be great for beginner vinyl users.  I applied the stars randomly, being careful to not get too many of the same color in any one spot.  I used a bone folder to rub out any little wrinkles.

This set was a prize at a recent baby shower I co-hosted.  The baby is due July 3rd so it was a practical yet appropriate gift!  Because these cups are so inexpensive, you could make up a bunch if you are hosting a party or BBQ.  Create them to match any party theme...you'll definitely wow your guests and they can take them home as a favor!

More Digital Layouts

I'm till trying to win a Bamboo tablet from Daisy Trail/Craft Artist.
Six more layouts that were entered and didn't win.  Oh well, it's been fun learning to use the software.
I love the green, black and pink colors used in the layout above--so fun!
Maybe I should have been following some sketches.  Basically I find the pictures I want to use (that go with the week's theme) and just start placing them and the embellishments on the page.  I'm a rogue scrapper!
This week's theme was "Good Times" and it was fun looking back to find those type of photos.  I've had a digital camera for over twelve years and I LOVE digital photos because they are so easy to use.  It's not hard to scan the others, but when I want to scrap a picture, I want it NOW!  lol
I have two beach themed digital kits and finally got to do an ocean theme.  I have lots of lake pics but we don't have shells like these, much less starfish in our fresh water lake.  Gotta be authentic!
This was a fun layout to do.  Almost all my favorite people in the world together at one time.
Really like the "retro urban feel" to this layout.
Carried over a bit of the "Great Outdoors" theme here.  Love the rustic layouts!

Summer Layout

After working on a lot of digital scrapbook pages lately, it's fun to show this "real" version.  I found this paper and thought that it would be a perfect piece to feature the sun from my Beach Set as the heading.
This page is my Design Team submission in the latest Creative Cutting Challenge.  The theme for the next two weeks is "Anything Goes", so if you use SVG or similar files with an electronic cutting machine, I hope you'll join in the fun...you just might win a prize!

Digital Scrapbook Pages

All week long, Craft Artist has been running a contest.  The theme was "The Great Outdoors" so I put together these scrapbook pages using the Craft Artist 2 Professional software.  I've only just gotten into digital scrapping and I find that I really love it!  Quick and easy and I find I'm not stressing over a page...if it doesn't look good, I just delete.  And no worries about using up embellishments...they are infinite!  I haven't won yet but there are two more weeks to go!
I have a few leads on getting them printed and when I do, I'll share the info.
Here's a look at the rest of this week's pages:
The pond and butterfly pictures were taken by me and I enjoyed finding a quote to go with them.  Thinking that I will frame these.

Another Patchwork Card

Here's the last of the patchwork cards I created.  (Get details HERE)  It's easy to do a multitude of these since you use such a small amount of each design per card.  Have some made up and add the sentiment you need when it's time to send the card.

Easy Wood Ornaments

I've seen these thin wooden ornaments around Christmas time at the big box craft stores.  They have the lines imprinted on them for easy painting.  I used these for a baby shower favor but these idea would apply to any style of ornament.
Simply use Ranger Distress Stain to easily color the wood...no brush needed.  Once dry, use Archival ink to stamp on a name or in my case, a number for a shower game.
I changed the hanging ribbon to white but if you left it as is, you'll have some cute custom ornaments done in a snap!
