Baby Subway Art

Here's a look at the sweet subway art picture I created for new nephew Nate.
I used a combination of ideas from Pinterest to create it from canvas, paint and vinyl.
My sister loved it!

Bulldog Baby Garb

Here's the first of two special items I created for new nephew Nathaniel.  I've had this long sleeve onesie for a few years and finally got to embellish it for him.  I created the sentiment and bulldog using my SCAL software and cut it from heat transfer vinyl.  I used a household iron to apply it.  So cute that I think I will be offering similar onsies on my Etsy store...stay tuned!

Vintage Baby Card

If you are a Facebook follower, you know that I've had a couple of new additions to my family (one flesh and blood and one mechanical!).  I finally got to deliver baby Nate's gifts so I can now feature them on the blog!  Today I'm showing you this vintage styled baby card created using paper from Graphic 45 (Little Darlings).  I just love the beautiful pictures in this line.  I simply cut out the image I wanted to use and matted it with the opposite striped side of the paper.  The base of the card was a scrap piece of blue patterned cardstock.  A satin ribbon was added across the mat and a banner was added using hand cut pennant pieces stamped and accented with tiny pearls.
The blue bow was added in the upper left corner and accented with a wooden letter block and baby blue beads strung on a pin attached to the knot.  I even finished off the inside of the card with another image and a stamp from Fiskars (Thoughts-Boy).

Stained Glass Window Card

The theme over at Simon Says Stamp is "Let's Be Clear" so it was a great time to create a stained glass sympathy card.  First I cut the beautiful SVG Gothic Windows file from black cardstock.  Next I cut clear acetate to go behind the black frame and glued the two together.  I used alcohol inks to create the faux stained glass look on the back side.

On the front side, I stamped the lettering and designs on using Jet Black Archival ink.  The circle details were colored in on the front side with Sharpies.  To create the card, I took two shapes and welded them together and cut out using my electronic cutter.

Hats Off To The Graduate

Here's a recent graduation card I put together using one of my SVG files.
I created the heading "from scratch" cutting white, black and yellow cardstock.  As you can see, I modified the file a bit to fit the space.  That's the beauty of using SVGs and your electronic cutter.  You can make what ever you need!  I finished off the card with a washi tape border (between the two designer papers), a black brad on the cap and a stick-on sentiment.

First Anniversary Card

Here's a vintage style card I made using elements from Graphic 45's Romantique Collection...a perfect choice for an Anniversary card!  I punched out the couple and added foam tape under them to make them stand out.  I added a black stick on number (1 for "First") to the round metal charm and then applied a good coat of Glossy Accents to create a domed effect.

Gumball Machine Shaker Card

Something new for me...a shaker card!  Perfect timing as this is a birthday card for a four year old and there is a special "Shake It" Challenge over at SSS!.  I started by using my new Gumball Machine SVG file
I had packaging from a round die cut set I'd been saving for just the right project, so I cut out the smallest "cup" and sized my project around it.  This created the "glass" portion of the gumball machine.  I filled it with colored beads to look like the gumballs and then added it all to a card base I made using a manual diecut.  A perfect marriage of manual and electronic!  lol
Shading and highlighting were done with Distress Stain, Distress Ink and Distress Markers  The banner is a Spellbinders die cut and I hand lettered the sentiment.
