Grunge is a Tim Holtz Idea-ology product and according to his packaging it is "a compressed, flexible sheet of dingy material that can be punched, painted, inked, sanded, die-cut or grunged."
I was able to cut the Grungeboard on my Cricut using a deep cut blade. The Grungepaper cut beautifully using a regular blade. The best part? It held up. I painted it, glued it, glittered it and bent it. There really is nothing to compare to it. So this product definately has a place in my studio!
Above I used Grungepaper to create the top hat. There is no way I could have bent cereal boxes or even regular chipboard to make this. The base of the wings are Grungeboard and were cut on the Cricut with the deep cut blade. They are sturdy, yet have some flex to them...awesome wings. The lacey part of the wings was cut out of Grungepaper and glittered then glued to the wing base.
absolutely fabulous I love him!

Ruthann-I've found Grunge at Hobby Lobby and Meijers (Michigan). I don't have a Michaels or Joanns near me so I'm not sure if they carry them in the store. Joanns does carry on line.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! Thank you for the review as I have to say that I have been cautious about trying Grungepaper/Grungeboard.
ReplyDeleteTruly beautiful!
