Pet Week! SVG File: Cat & CATS Word Book

DAY 2
CELEBRATING OUR WONDERFUL PETS.
I don't want the cat lovers to feel left out!  Today I have pictures of the word book I just made for my sister's birthday.  She has two cats.  One is twelve years old and has some serious crankiness issues.  I call him "El Diablo".  The other is almost a year old.  He was a rescue and is such a sweetie.  In fact I believe he is turning "the evil one" around!
Don't forget to share a photo of your pet related project and/or leave a comment about your pet.
Details at bottom of post.
Above is the cover of the book.  I cut the pages out of cereal boxes...two per page and then glued them together.  I also double cut and glued the individual letters so that they stand out from the pages.  I used all "cat-themed" scrapbook paper on the pages with coordinating solids for the letters.  I distressed everything using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and bound the book with my Cinch.

Photo above shows pages two and three.  The "C" frames an oval for a picture.  The "kitty" tag is from a file I collected.  (Sorry I don't know from who.  If you let me know, I'll post your blog address)
Pages four and five have old Scrabble tiles spelling out the photo captions.

Page 6 has a cut file of a cat that you can get below.  I also created a little pocket to hold a journal tag.
For page seven I used one of my Tim Holtz memo pins and a "Love" ticket.  I stamped the paws on the red cardstock with Versamark.

The back page has another full cut of the cat file that you can get HERE.

  3. What an amazing gift this is! I, too, have a rescue cat. His name is PITA (Pain in the Anatomy) as he was SO starved for attention that he was almost a nuisance when we first got him and still is today, LOL I love him dearly though! We also have a rescue dog, Codee (Newfoundland Mix)and he is just the SMARTEST dog I have ever seen! I so wish the people who had dropped him off could see him today. He is by far the best dog we have ever owned! *Hugs*

Glad to see you helping locally. I too do volunteer work for out local no kill shelter. I just got 2 books of cards that are "cats" for my girls. Because I help the shelter I have rescued 9 cats myself. So we are big cat lovers. I didn't forget the dogs we have 3 of them also.

  8. Cindy love the book. I have a my cat layouts I can share but I already shared the dog one. Don't know if it is ok to put 2 or to take the dog one down. I'll link it and you can let me know but I wanted to share the story of how I as a dog person ended up with all these cats and lost my scraproom in the process...LOL It is a long read but worth it.

  9. I don't do word books but this is one that would make me reconsider the project - lots of photos of my 4+ kitties.
