Grungy Monday Challenge #1

Well, here it is!  My very first Grungy Monday Challenge entry.
GM is all about being inspired by the artwork of  Tim Holtz
Our hostess is Linda Ledbetter.
For the first week's Challenge we used
Tim's "12 Tags of Christmas, 2008 Tag 10" as our guide.
Here is my entry:
EDIT:  Brandi asked how I did the background.  I followed Tim's instructions exactly.  I used a dropper full of Vintage Photo reinker, a scoop of gold Perfect Pearls and water in a Mini Mister, which I sprayed over the tree mask.  Then I used the ink applicator and wiped on Peeled Paint, Vintage Photo and Tumbled Glass.
Lot's of cool techniques in this tag and I had a great time creating it.
Challenges are a wonderful learning opportunity.
If you're interested in finding out more about Tim Holtz and his art, I highly recommend that you join the "All Things Tim" Yahoo group.

  4. Alright, the background is alcohol ink, but how did you apply it? I'm a newbie to them and still am learning the ropes!

  5. Brandi-I followed Tim's instructions...no alcohol inks on this. I used a dropper full of Vintage Photo reinker, a scoop of gold Perfect Pearls and water in a MIni Mister, which I sprayed over the mask. Then I used the ink applicator and wiped on Peeled Paint, Vintage Photo and Tumbled Glass.

  6. Cindy, it's absolutely spectacular! What a wonderful, joyful, heartwarmingly beautiful tag! What a brilliant "take" on Tim's technique. The background is incredible-- awesome masking and coloring. The little crowned bird is darling, too.

Thank you so much for being part of Grungy Monday. I really hope you'll be back again next week!
