Distressed Turkey Card

This distressed turkey card was created for the newest Creative Cutting Challenge--Thanksgiving.   If you create with an electronic cutter and SVG (or similar software) files, I hope you'll join in and check out all the great Design Team inspiration!
This card is from a brand new file

Here's how I made it!
I cut both the card base and the front detail panel from kraft cardstock.  I took a piece of Distress Watercolor Paper and with a pencil traced the openings in the panel.  Then with a kneaded eraser I gently rubbed until the lines were barely visible.

Next I took various Distress Markers and the water pen and colored in the areas I had marked.  Make sure that the colors touch so that no white spaces will be seen.

If you've ever seen a real turkey, you know that their feathers are iridescent.  To replicate that look, I used Copper Perfect Pearls, applied with a Perfect Medium pen.

Using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blender, I added shading to the detail panel.

I glued the detail panel to the watercolor paper and then attached to the front of the card base.
I added details to the feathers and body with a Walnut Stain Distress marker.  The sentiment (Stampin' Up) was stamped in Walnut Stain on a scrap piece of kraft and hand cut out.
