Time is getting short. Have you gotten your Christmas cards sent out yet? If not, here is a cute and quick card tutorial for you! My inspiration for this card came from Pinterest and I modified it to fit my stamps.
Here's what you'll need:
--White, red & kraft cardstock*
--Sizzix Die (Tags #3) and Die Cutting Machine*
--Stamps (snowflakes, house, tree, sentiments)
--Ink (white pigment & black waterproof)
--Distress Markers
--water pen
--4 inch strip of ribbon or washi tape
--black hemp cord
--snowflake button
--scissors
--hot glue gun or glue dots
--tape adhesive
*no kraft/die/die cutter needed if you use a pre-made tag
To start, you'll need to cut some card stock:
*White--8.5" x 5.25" folded at 4.25"
*White--3.75" x 4.75"
*Red--4" x 5"
*Kraft--Using die/cutter, cut a tag 2" x 4.25" (or use a similar pre-cut tag)
*Use a piece of white scrap for stamping house and tree
Using a snowflake background stamp (Hero Arts) and white pigment ink (Stampin' Up), cover the kraft tag. Set aside to dry.
Stamp your images (Stampin' Up) with a waterproof ink. I used Archival Jet Black.
Color images using Distress Markers and a water pen. I used these colors:
Fired Brick, Forest Moss, Gathered Twigs, Peeled Paint, Pumice Stone and Scattered Straw
Using sharp scissors, fussy cut out the house and tree. Now it's time to build the card.
First attach the tag to the 3.75" x 4.75" piece of white card stock as shown.
Snip the ribbon into points and attach as shown. Leave a bit extra on the right side and attach to the back with adhesive. Attach the fussy cut images as shown. Stamp sentiment as shown.
Now attach this piece to the piece of red card stock, centering it. Then attach to center of card base front.
Tie a bow with a piece of cord. Using hot glue or glue dots, attach the bow and snowflake button as shown. Stamp inside sentiment. Mine says simply "Merry Christmas".
Here are some options:
No snowflake buttons? Punch a snowflake and use Stickles over it.
Want to add some sparkle to the card? Use Stickles here and there. I used colored Stickles on the string of lights. I also added it to the berries on the wreath.
Hope this tutorial has been helpful. If you do the cards assembly line style, you can crank out a lot of handmade Christmas cards in a short amount of time.
