Welcome Back to Day 2 of the Card A Day Blog's
CHRISTMAS CARD BLOG HOP!
I hope you enjoyed hopping to all of the participating blogs yesterday. So much holiday card making inspiration and it's all new today! If you're here from Cindy's blog, you're heading in the right direction...two Cindy's in a row! If you've come directly to my blog, check out the bottom of this post as there is a whole list of fabulous bloggers with more wonderful cards to share today. Be sure to visit them .
Today I'm using the same reindeer die cut (see below for free SVG file) as I did in yesterday's vintage card but now it has an updated traditional look. Besides the tradtional red & green, I introduced black and white to the Christmas color scheme and then added touches of sparkle to give the card a fun modern twist.
Card Details:
*The base is black cardstock.
*Layered over the base is a piece of scrap plaid paper and a piece of white cardstock I altered using Fired Brick Distress Ink, water and a Poinsettia background stamp.
*The ribbon is "Glitter Velvet Red" from The Paper Studio. This is a thick ribbon so I used Glossy Accents to securely adhere it to the card base.
*Sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts' "Holiday Sayings" and was stamped on the base with Versamark ink and then heat embossed with white embossing powder.
*The dots are Green Stickles.
*The reindeer was cut on the Cricut using Sure Cuts A Lot and my reindeer SVG file (offered below) four times using black cardstock. I glued all the pieces together to make one thick embellishment that I attached with foam dots. His nose is X-Mas Red Stickles.
