A new year, lots of new creative opportunities!
I was asked by Vicki Romaine over at The Cheerful Stamp Pad to join her Design Team. She has biweekly challenges and the first one for 2012 is "Let It Snow" featuring newly released images from Dezinaworld. Here's my submission, a little hanging frame that measures 3.25" x 5.5".
The Details:
*Frame cut from chipboard using Cricut and SCAL. I then painted it white and put a nice coat of Distress Crackle Paint in Clear Rock Candy over it. Once dry, I used Faded Jeans Distress stain here and there to bring out the crackles. Over that I added Rock Candy Stickles and some sprinkles of Diamond Dust glitter.
* I also cut three acetate snowflakes with the Cricut and then pounced on Pearl Mixative alcohol ink. Here and there I added a touch of Sail Boat Blue AI. I attached the snowflakes to the frame using 3-dimensional Scrap Dots so that they would stand away from the frame. This product dries clear so it really worked well for this project. I added a clear gem to the center of the large snowflake and White Opal Liquid Pearl accents to all the snowflakes.
*I printed the image on cardstock and matted it on blue patterned paper. I distressed the edges of the mat paper with Faded Jeans DI. I cut a piece of acetate to fit the opening of the frame and using Glossy Accents, attached it and the picture to the back of the frame.
*Using letter stamps and Cottn White StazOn,
I stamped "Snow" onto the top of the acetate.
*I created the hanger using thin silver wire, pearls,
clear round beads and blue bugle beads.
