It's always fun to find some unique vintage trays and give them new life as one-of-a-kind accessories. These started out as tarnished and scratched silver and metal trays.
First I clean them with Simple Green and then give them a spray coat of flat black paint. A coat or two of red chalk paint around the edges. Two coats of black acrylic in the centers. Finally I paint the lettering and trim with white acrylic. I varnished these pieces but they also look lovely waxed.
This little piece is the bottom of a butter dish!
