This hand painted sign was done on a piece of old pine that I picked up at a garage sale. I stained the edges (I make my own stain. Ingredients: water:paint:varnish 1:1:1) and then laid down a white chalk paint base coat. The design (from The Hungry JPEG) was distressed by sanding and then varnished.
