Here's a primitive oar I painted using a design from Pam Grady. I've had these oars base coated and in my stash for at least 13 years so I was excited to get them out and finish them!
I love the primitive style in this piece...very nautical looking!
To finish the handle and give the oar a way to be hung, I drilled a hole through the top. I added a wire loop to the back for hanging and on the front I attached a rusty bell and a homespun ribbon.
