Dads & Grads! SVG File: DAD Wrench

Today it's both Dads & Grads as I have two new things to share with you. 

First up is a new free SVG file. 

This element is perfect for the Dad who loves to be "Mr. Fix-It". 

Use it on cards or layouts or whatever you can dream up.

Next I have a graduation card (yay...I actually got one done!)

I guess I was in a black and white mood lately! 

For this card I used black checked scrapbook paper and added a layer of gray, matted with white, cardstock.  I then ran both through the

Texture Boutique using a houndstooth embossing folder.

On top of that I placed the banner (a piece of a SVG file I offer for sale) and the simple graduation cap that I offered here free a few weeks ago. 

I also added a silver brad to the cap.

Along the bottom edge I added "graduation" printed ribbon. 

A note on the ribbon:  it was part of a set of 5 different black and white graduation ribbons...from 2008.  Got it for a $1 because of the date.  Only one length has the date printed on it.  I'll just turn that ribbon around...it's black on the back.  So be sure and check the bargain bins after graduation season for a great deal like this!

Finally, I stamped the scalloped circle, shaded it with gray watercolor pencils and hand wrote the sentiment.

There you have it.  Nothing fancy, but I like it. 

Hope the grad I'm sending it too does as well. 

Of course, they probably don't notice the card much...
