Fall Subway Sign

I've been showing you lots of painted and vinyl canvas signs.  On this piece, I actually did quite a bit more painting than the other signs.  I took an 11" x 14" stretched canvas and first painted the background to look like burlap.  A "rake" brush is a must have to achieve this effect.
Next I cut the wording (design from www.myvinyldesigner.com) from various colors of vinyl and applied it to the canvas when the paint was good and dry.
I then added paint either around or inside all the lettering.  In some areas I added washes of color.  Much more work, but the added painting really makes the letters pop.
