I've been showing you lots of painted and vinyl canvas signs. On this piece, I actually did quite a bit more painting than the other signs. I took an 11" x 14" stretched canvas and first painted the background to look like burlap. A "rake" brush is a must have to achieve this effect.
Next I cut the wording (design from www.myvinyldesigner.com) from various colors of vinyl and applied it to the canvas when the paint was good and dry.I then added paint either around or inside all the lettering. In some areas I added washes of color. Much more work, but the added painting really makes the letters pop.
